“Natural Connections is a meditation on our human need to connect with nature, and with each other. I began painting when we moved from a busy city life to the quietness of central Victoria, and these works respond to the character of the region. Sometimes I paint in solitude, but other times I paint with friends, enjoying the natural connections that develop through shared experiences of being immersed in nature. These paintings are a pastiche of different observations of hue, texture and mood I have experienced while being still in this space over time. The landscapes are ambiguous and connected spaces, but spaces that may only hint at human influence”.
