“Contemplative in nature, these vases were built intuitively and in response to the gentleness demanded by the technique of hand pinching clay. Being a new mother has forced me to approach my practice at a different pace. Each piece would often sit wrapped in a half-finished state for days at a time, and precious hours working became a quiet meditation. I embraced slowness, using repetitive mark making as an indication of time passed.”
